If you purchased a domain from Godaddy.com and would like to customize your blogger default domain name ( for example, vietnamvoiz.blogspot.com) to your newly purchased domain name, you would have to include the triple w's ( www ) in the 'Advanced Settings' under your blog publishing section, which looks like this:



It is because blogger.com does not allow you to redirect to any naked domain names (naked domain name is the one that does not have 'www'). In this situation, the visitors to your customized domain blog has to type the address of e.g. www.vietnamvoiz.com into his web browser address bar in full. Otherwise, they may end up on an error # 404 (not found) or other dead pages ( if they just type the naked domain name, vietnamvoiz.com

So, what is the solution for this, though you have carefully followed the setup process for newly-purchased domains in blogger help page?

I would like to share the following additional tips with you after you have followed the blogger instruction here so that you can get rid of the error # 404 or dead pages for your blog.

To Forward a Domain:

• Log in to your godaddy Account Manager.


• In the My Products section, click Domain Manager.


• Use the checkbox(es) to select the domain name(s) you want to modify.


• Click Forward.


• Select Enable forwarding.


• In the Forward to field, enter the URL to which you want to forward your domain name(s). Remember to include http://www.


• In the Redirect type area, select one of the following:

301 Moved Permanently: Redirects to the site you specified in the Forward To field using a "301 Moved Permanently" HTTP response. The HTTP 301 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) that the location has permanently moved.

302 Found (Temporary Redirect): Redirects to the site you specified in the Forward To field using a "302 Found" HTTP response. The HTTP 302 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) that the location has temporarily moved.

Note: I suggest you choose 301 type area.


• Click OK

To check nameservers:

• In the My Products section, click Domain Manager.


• Click on nameservers tab >> click on the radio button 'Custom nameservers' to check if the nameserver 1 and 2 are look like these or not?

  NS18.DOMAINCONTROL.COM


• Click OK to exist

Check Total DNS Control and MX Records:

• Log in to your godaddy Account Manager.


• In the My Products section, click Domain Manager.


• Click the domain name for which you want to access the Total DNS Control.


• In the Details section, click Total DNS Control and MX Records.


• Check if the A Record @ points to # 64.202.189.170 or not?. If not, wait a few minutes for it to automatically change to that host number. Otherwise, you will have to manually edit it by clicking on the correlative 'pencel' icon under the Action column


• Click OK to exist

After you make all of these changes, you should wait for a few hours or so for them to update. And then try typing your naked domain name into the web browser address bar to see the result.
